CANON INFO
life was good for this particular bachelor; he had his own place downtown, ruled one of the best jobs for perverts, and didn't have any family to answer to about his lifestyle choices.it didn't really matter that he was starting to lie about his age to younger women in bars, or losing half his pay to superscriptions online, as long as he was having a good time in the end. when the infection reached the beginning stages of its peak, he'd been busy tucked inside the shop he knew like the back of his hand, restocking before lock-up. his first encounter happened after gathering his bag and keys; a stray was roaming the vibrator aisle, knocking a few things off their hooks. but after he discovered the enraged woman, any thoughts on her being a last minute customer were quickly shoved aside. it was a narrow save, but he managed to knock the shelving unit down onto the woman before she could grab ahold of him. salvaging a weapon, he paired up with a small batch of survivors to keep his odds better.

fortunately for this survivor, her love for writing and reading was a passed down trait from both her parents. so when she told them after her twenty-eighth birthday that she was going to go to new york to be a writer, there were little complaints- her family only worried about losing tough, rather than her putting so much into a "dead end career choice." after a billion promises to keep contact, and not to forget about them after she made it big, she found herself on a one-way flight to her supposed paradise. however, she quickly learned the hard differences between small town life, and city life. not only that, but making it big in the literate world wasn't so easy with so much competition. she still strived for it anyways, though, and wrote whenever she could catch a break at her librarian job. luckily, it was that job that saved her life bookshelves loaded with old historian books made the perfect barricades, and a few survival books had passed by her nose while working.
days into the new world, there hadn't been a sign of anything on the radio. then, out of no where, a broadcast came through, unclear at first, but the message that followed after the snow was clear to her; there was a safe haven in san francisco. if she wanted to have any chance of survival, she'd have to make her way to alcatraz.

STREET RACER | CURRENT JOB (IF ACCEPTABLE) |
CANON INFO
most people that like cars, keep it as a hobby. however, admiring cars wasn't enough for this racer. he just needed to drive and fast. it didn't help that he was really good at what he did. both his father and older brother shared a love for cars and were eager to share with him. his brother had a particular skill set that involved stripping cars and selling parts. this made it easy to steal parts to build his own car that he could race. from there, it was all about competing with other drivers for pink slips. when he won, the cars he didn't want could be sold and while it was dangerous, it was a career. granted, he spent a lot of time running from the cops, but when you can drive faster than they can, it's not much of a problem. when the infection hit, it was easy to drive away. however, when there's no steady source of gas and the streets are filled with dead cars, it's hard to get anywhere. now he's stuck in san francisco, trying to figure out a way to get out.
