PERSONALITY
well mannered , her parents taught her well, especially since she was going against the grain of being a bratty, spoilt only child. celandine had always thought things out before she spoke. she was a thinker, someone who valued tact and would go the extra mile by saying “thank you” or offering to help with an unpleasant chore. she saw how hard her parents worked and how others spoke so fondly of them, she wanted nothing more for herself and her future children. however, as she grew older, many of her peers looked at her with disdain. calling her a prude or a Debbie-downer. and, while celandine did pride herself of her manners, she did feel that she also needed to be able to let go and have some fun once in a while.
creative , ever since she was young she always enjoyed reading with a good cup of tea at her side. she devoured any book that her parents, friends, or relatives gave her. she was especially drawn to history, primarily WWII. celandine often dabbled in various artistic outlets, such as painting, drawing, poetry, sculpture, and things of that nature. however, her favorite outlet consisted of carving masks out of wood and staining them. her parents have a whole shelf dedicated to her “masterpieces.” she was eventually going to be a teacher who taught history but never was able to pursue it since she became a stay at home mom.
selfish , after seeing her children turn and having to always keep her tongue in check, she’s had enough. she has decided to adopt a new philosophy and to only take care of herself. celandine feels that since her children are no longer among the living (since they’re ravenous zombie’ish creatures), she doesn’t feel obligated to look after anybody. all her decisions are now made solely on what she wants and what she needs, no one else matters.
scared , and, of course, she’s terrified living on her own. she doesn’t know if her parents or if her husband is alive. she knows that she’s surrounded by infected people and she knows that she’s lost her children (but it’s so surreal to her that she doesn’t feel like it’s really impacted her yet). however, although she’s scared out of her wits, she manages to remain collected and resourceful. she would be an excellent component if she were to join a band of survivors – her quick thinking, calm demeanor would definitely be beneficial to a team. but she is wary of others and refuses to join up with anyone, unless it is someone she truly trusts.

HISTORY
Celandine was an only child of Harrison and Gretta Schimming. Her parents had always dreamed of raising a big family and moving out to the suburbs. Some say they may have had a childish fantasy but the two knew that they would eventually have their white picket fence, a quaint house equipped with a two door garage, along with a garden and a dog. And, they most likely would have if Gretta hadn’t been infertile. Celandine was a miracle baby, her parents had given up on children and their fantasy of living in the burbs, but then her mother found out she was pregnant. After years and years of treatment and trying to conceive, she finally was able to have a child. They took every precaution during the pregnancy so her body wouldn’t abort the fetus. Eventually, Celandine was born.
Harrison and Gretta did talk about claiming their white picket fence but decided to stay living in the city. It was their comfort zone and Gretta felt like she needed to stay in the city the allowed her one grand wish to come true. So, they stayed and that’s where Celandine grew up. She was spoiled, as any only child would be, but she wasn’t unkind. Harrison instilled respect and responsibility in the young girl who grew up to be a polite (and rather crafty) young woman.
When she graduated high school she was in the top five percent of her class and had a scholarship to a neighboring university. Everything was falling into place until the summer Celandine turned nineteen. That’s when she met Daniel Kerrigan. He came from money and was devilishly handsome. They met in her college theater class, a class she needed to complete a general requirement. At first, Celandine had refused Daniel’s advances and avoided him at all costs, but eventually, she relented and gave him a chance. It simply snowballed from there.
There was chemistry that no one could deny between them. Sparks flew just from the two sitting next to each other. At age twenty, they married and at twenty one, she became pregnant with her daughter, Kaylee. She put her schooling on hold and settled down in an apartment with Daniel. Her husband worked relentlessly and they were certainly well off. By age twenty three, she had her second child, Ethan, and at twenty six, they were blessed with another child, Cody. They eventually moved out of their apartment and ended up moving to the outskirts of San Francisco, in the burbs. It was Celandine who began to live out her parents dream, a dream, she wasn’t sure she ever wanted to be a part of.
Her life became mundane. It was full of routines. Driving her SUV around to cater to her kids, get the groceries, clean the house, make the food… It would have been bearable if her husband would have been home to help out but he was always too busy and she began to loathe him for working so hard. Daniel was the love of her life, that was a simple fact, just as she was the love of his life. However, rarely did they connect on an intimate level considering the stress of Daniel’s job and the stress that went along raising children. Celandine was in desperate need of a change but she didn’t expect it to be in the form of a virus outbreak.
She was coming home from the store when she saw the infected beginning to turn. Her first thought was to get to her children but it was too late. All of them were infected, her sweet daughter was knowing on their neighbor (not that Celandine minded, she was a two-faced bitch anyway). Celandine didn’t even bother running into the house, she hauled her SUV out of there, and the only things she took with her was the groceries she had just bought along with the onslaught of miscellaneous objects her children had left behind.
Celandine is currently wandering the city on her own and has no idea where her husband is or even if he’s still alive. Or human, for that matter.

INVENTORY
A SURVIVOR
- a metal baseball bat , her eldest son was an athlete in all aspects but his favorite sport was baseball. when the outbreak began his favorite baseball bat was in her car. it's both a weapon and a reminder of her infected son.
- a medieval sword , her second son was the "dungeons and dragons" sort. so, of course, he had collections of swords, dragon memorabilia, and tons of other fantasy-like items. the sword, although somewhat dull, has been a good weapon against the infected. it also services as a momento of her infected son.
- a red cloak , the cloak belonged to her eldest daughter who recently turned nineteen. she had always been obsessed with fairy tales and she had to have a cloak like red riding hood. it is of high quality - warm and durable. it serves its purpose as well as reminding celandine of the daughter she left behind.
OTHER
if anyone is interested in adopted daniel, i would be incredibly happy. i imagine him looking like james franco - so, shoot me a pm if you're interested. also, i think it would be interesting if one of her children didn't fully become infected - if they were one who switched periodically. if you're interested in that, let me know c:
